IMHO - process mode is dead long live threaded mode. I don't see any reason using process mode UNLESS some serious non-solvable issues are found while testing the threaded mode. Process mode is legacy kernel. I'd bet this will be dropped at some point (or left in its "compatibility" defunct state forever). I doubt any improvements will be introduced into it. Threaded mode is generally better performing / utilizing OS resources / shows stable throughput. Don't use process mode "just because" this is the comfort zone. Move on.
