Stopping the service already removed the CPU load, so uninstalling it would definitely stop the load..
Just in case i tried your suggestion.
Reinstalling solved the problem, but for a short time..
I found that the problem is with the update mechanisme!
When an update is downloaded, but not installed the CPU load goes to a single core maxed out.
When you reject the downloaded update the load is back to normal.
I believe this to indeed be a bug.
I'll request our SAP partner to submit it as such.
About the RSP being required.
According to our SAP partner you must indeed have it, but you don't need to have it always running. Just starting it when you want upgrades/support/etc and than closing it is enough.
BUT, we want to have it running all the time as it hold several tasks we use, and we prefer the email feedback it gives.
